Same design with a new glaze, black iron wash, on beige stoneware. Hanging planter, thrown on the wheel. This concept planter was developed to be an all-purpose hanging planter.  Rather than having a plant suspended using three separate pieces this planter wraps it all into one.  The planter itself has a catch basin so there is no worries about running water.  The planter can be attached with either a thick hemp cord, lamp chain, or metal aviation wire, you get to decide. 



This planter is made with a beige stoneware with a choice of grey or red iron wash (see other listing).   The planter has a wash but is unglazed.  I fit the wire to hang at about 2.5 feet from the ceiling to the bottom of the pot.



The dimensions for the choice of size refers to the interior width at the rim. The interior depth of the planters is roughly 2/3 that of their width: the 4" wide would be around 2.75" deep, the 6" is around 4" deep, The 8" is about 5.5 inches deep, and the 10" is about 6.5" deep. There is some variation from planter to planter. If you need a specific size let me know and we will make arrangements.



Ideal for any type of epiphyte: smaller philodendrons, orchids, spider plants, and drooping succulents..



For the type of hanging material, I recommend the any of the three choices (hemp, aviation wire, lamp chain) if used indoors only. If you are planning on using the planter outside I recommend the aviation wire or lamp chain, as exposure to UV rays and rain will deteriorate the hemp over a few years.

Please note, clay is a natural material and the finishes that are applied are as well. As such, there is no way to completely control the outcome of the color and firing. If a color is too light I am able to refinish it and fire it again. With the two largest sizes (9 and 10 inch) I use a different clay which is not as bright. The clay change is necessary to avoid breakage.
